Dr. Fan Cheng is an associate professor and PhD supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the head of the Department of Computer Science-360 DigitalTech Artificial Intelligence Joint Lab. He obtained his PhD Degree from Information Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, supervised by Professor Raymond Yeung. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore. He has been with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2016. His main research is on fundamental problems in information theory and applications in security and machine learning. He has conducted long-term research on information theory related to modern communication systems, including network coding, Gaussian channels, Gaussian interference channels, etc. He has published several theoretical works in international flagship journals and conferences on information theory such as IEEE Transactions on Information Theory (TIT), International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), Information Theory Workshop (ITW). His research work has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, H863 project of Science and Technology Commission, and Huawei 2012 grant funding. He has been selected as an East Scholar of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission (2018-2020) and received the Young Rising Star Award of the Information Theory Branch of the Chinese Society of Electronics. 程帆，现为上海交通大学长聘教轨副教授、博士生导师、上海交大计算机系—360金融人工智能联合实验室负责人。2007年本科毕业于上海交通大学计算机科学与工程系，2012年在香港中文大学获信息工程博士学位，师从Shannon奖得主Raymond Yeung教授。之后在香港中文大学、新加坡国立大学从事博士后工作。2016年起任上海交通大学计算机科学与工程系特别研究员。
主要研究信息理论的基本问题，以及在安全和机器学习中的应用。对现代通信系统相关的信息理论进行了长期的研究，包括网络编码、高斯信道、高斯干扰信道等，在IEEE Transactions on Information Theory (TIT), International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), Information Theory Workshop (ITW)等国际信息论旗舰级期刊与会议发表了多项理论工作。研究工作获得国家自然基金、科技委H863项目、华为2012 gift funding支持。入选上海市教委东方学者特聘教授(2018-2020)，上海市科委扬帆计划(2017-2019)，获得中国电子学会信息论分会青年新星奖。 |
