Yuan Luo (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in applied mathematics, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in probability statistics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 1993, 1996, and 1999, respectively. From July 1999 to April 2001, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Institute of Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. From May 2001 to April 2003, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Institute for Experimental Mathematics, University of Duisburg–Essen, Essen, Germany. Since June 2003, he has been with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. Since 2006, he has been a Full Professor and the Vice Director of the Department, from 2016 to 2018 and since 2021. His current research interests include coding theory, information theory, and big data analysis.
